This story is listed under section: Life & Arts

Serve this with best wishes for a Happy 2003. A moderately priced sparkling wine will do perfectly well for this recipe.
CHAMPAGNE BOWL
1 bottle sparkling white wine
2 large oranges
&1/2; cup sugar
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 cup dry white wine
Chill sparkling wine. Halve oranges lengthwise and cut into thin slices. Place in punch bowl and sprinkle with sugar, lemon juice and the dry white wine. Chill 1 hour or longer.

#2 Eggnog without the danger - 12/13/2000
This story is listed under section: Life & Arts

Every year I receive so many letters requesting reprints of my column for Cooked Eggnog that I decided to include it in a column again this year. I originally developed this recipe for the California Egg Commission, which asked me to revise popular recipes traditionally made with raw eggs by substituting cooked eggs to avoid the possible danger of contamination with salmonella bacteria.

Surprise your family and friends with this truly original presentation of a seafood salad. I like this salad served slightly warm or at room temperature.

#7 A premier bridge design - 12/3/2005
This story is listed under section: City&Region

A binational design jury captured imagination and drama in its choice for a new Peace Bridge, delivered with an unusual degree of on-time efficiency in this prolonged decision process.

WOODSTOCK, Ont. - Toyota announced in late June that it will build an assembly plant here that will employ 1,300 people. But long before that project ever surfaced, the city's economic development officials were perfecting their pitch.

#10 Higgins sees federal aid as bridge boon - 7/31/2005

Federal aid totaling $25 million should help bring resolution to the Peace Bridge plan, Rep. Brian Higgins says. "There's absolutely no excuse now why this project shouldn't go forward," Higgins said Friday.
