Canisius' season staggers to end -  3/4/2007
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - There were rumbles all around the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference that top-seeded Marist might have a problem Saturday. After all, Canisius had beaten the Red Foxes in seven of the teams' last 10 meetings, including a 10-pointer in January in the Koessler Center that was far more lopsided than the score would indicate.

Canisius isn't done just yet -  3/3/2007

In the end, Loyola made key free throws and an open three-pointer from Canisius sophomore Amanda Cavo bounded off the rim at the buzzer to allow the Greyhounds to escape with a 63-60 victory in the quarterfinals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament in the Arena at Harbor Yard.

The best thing that can happen to Canisius is for February to be pushed off the calendar by March. Sunday's 74-71 Senior Day loss to Loyola in the Koessler Center - the Griffins' eighth straight - was another cruel one, the fourth during the streak by four points or less.
