Ido not know Lyn, who recently sent me an e-mail, but I do know I like her. Lyn’s message was one of many responses to a recent column that took restaurant servers to task for using phrases like “Are youse guys ready to order?” and “Are you still working on that?”

Perlman finds her voice for ‘The Christmas Choir’


If you were casting a nun, Rhea Perlman is not the first name likely to spring to mind. This isn’t a slap at Perlman’s acting ability. It’s simply that Perlman is a Brooklyn-born actress best known for playing a wisecracking barmaid on a little sitcom called “Cheers.” This doesn’t exactly scream “woman of God.”
